Things didn't start off well by drawing a stinker! Peg 7 White Post (top). Completely on the wrong lake, with no chance of qualifying 😞

The general advice from people who knew what they were doing: go home or go to the pub!

I'm in desperate need of match experience, so off I went to give it a go. In the first hour, I fished the pole short and in the edge with no fish. Changed over to a mini Guru hybrid feeder and did really well for 2 hours catching a fish every few casts getting me up 40lb. When that stopped working I moved back to the pole with not much luck.

Ended up with 44lb. I did beat a fair few experienced match anglers in my section and learnt a lot. Well done to Pemb Wrighting for winning my section with 205lb (double more than anyone else I think).
