I’ve had the last 3 months off from doing my radio thing, but I made a little come back!
After my Breakfast Show finished on Trickstar Radio, I was sort of happy to not have to get up at 4:30am every morning. But as the weeks have gone by, I started missing it, a lot!
Last Wednesday I got an email from Cass Hoe, a producer from talkRADIO. Now I love Talkradio as I often check out Iain lee’s show from 10pm. For anyone that has followed me for a long time, will know I did a number of shows with Iain back in the day. talkRADIO is a national talk radio station and was was launched in March 2016. Owned by Wireless Group, it is the sister station of national stations TalkSport, TalkSport 2 and Virgin Radio UK.
Anyway, Cass asked me if I was available to come and do the newspaper reviews on Penny Smith’s Saturday Breakfast Show. Now I love Penny Smith from her days on GMTV so I was more than happy to come and give it a go.
I’ve been doing radio for 10 years now, but it has always been my own show. It may seem the same sort of thing, being a guest on a show. But, when you have your own show, you decide what pace you are going to do things. Every time I have been a guest on any show, I always feel a bit uncomfortable, and the reason for this is, I always like to be in control, of everything!
I had never met Cass or Penny, nor had I ever been to the Hatfields studios in London, so I must admit, I was a little nervous. There was no need to be, the whole team were a dream to work with! To get to the studio for 7:45M, I had to get up at 4:30am, which I wasn't use to, but it was all worth it, as I had a lovely time!
You can check out the show here, I’m on from 8:30am.
And there’s more good news, I have been invited back on 13th January from 8am, so don’t miss it!
